An exploration of how social media tools can be applied in meaningful public engagement related to city-building (planning and design). The event will include a brief presentation by planner Andrea Winkler and colleagues about current public engagement tools in community redevelopment projects around the world, followed by a panel discussion about the challenges and opportunities presented by social media in this context. What are the tools currently used for public engagement related to city-building? What are their strengths and limitations? How can Cities and practitioners use Social Media tools in the pursuit of meaningful engagement?
